The majority of electronic based equipment today is controlled by sophisticated high speed microprocessors which require a reliable and stable power source.
Harmonics, Transients, sags and surges on power lines often too fast for the human eye to see because these microprocessors and the equipment they control to become unstable.
This results in downtime and expensive repair costs.
Power Analysis is essential in identifying and solving problems of this nature.
Alpha Power owns top of the range Dranitz /BMI single phase and three phase power analyzers.
What is Power Analysis?
Power Analysis is the ability to capture data that exceeds acceptable tolerances, download this data and provide recommendations and solutions to resolve a specific power problem.
Alpha Power has the equipment as well as the expertise to do this.
What data can be captured?
Voltage surges and sags
Currents
Voltage and Current transients
Specific harmonics
Total Harmonic distortion
Power Factor
Frequency
Power Failures
How is data captured?
Data is captured in two ways
a) By using time plots
b) By capturing specific events
Time plots
Data is captured at pre-set intervals irrespective of whether a tolerance has been exceeded or not. Should a tolerance be exceeded within the pre-set interval, it is immediately captured.
Time plots graphs give a good overview of the power over a specific period.
Specific Events
Once a tolerance has been exceeded a specific event will be captured as a waveform.
